Title: Resident Advocate

Reports to: Executive Director

The Resident Advocate is responsible for general support of residents and overseeing the general operation of the shelter in evenings and on weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee resident activities and ensure all house rules are followed.

  • Ensure secure environment for residents.

  • Greet and welcome all guests. Provide agency information as requested.

  • Oversee non-resident services, maintaining a sense of organization and professionalism.

  • Receive donations, providing tax receipts and tracking in-kind donations.

  • Sort and organize donations.

  • Maintain documentation for residential and non-residential services.

  • Document all calls, shift activities, and individual narratives at end of each shift.

  • Provide transportation services to residents of Bethlehem House and others as approved by Executive Director.

  • Oversee the distribution of resident’s medication.

  • Receive incoming calls.

  • Complete exit forms on anyone moving out during shift.

  • Update waiting list of potential residents.

  • Work closely with Bethlehem Staff to fulfill Bethlehem House mission.

  • Maintain positive public relations within the community.

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and agency information.

  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
